Atstat contains Atorvastatin.

Product Information & Mode of Action :- Atorvastatin selectively and competitively inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, the rate limiting enzyme that converts 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A to mevalonate which is a precursor of sterols like cholesterol.

Indications :- Atstat is used for prevention of cardiovascular events in adults without clinically evident coronary heart disease, but with multiple cardiovascular risk factors. Atstat is indicated to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction and reduce the risk for revascularization procedures and angina. Atstat is indicated in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia (heterozygous familial and nonfamilial), mixed dys-lipidemia (Fredrickson Types IIa and IIb), hypertriglyceridemia, primary dysbetalipoproteinemia (Fredrickson Type III) and homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia.

Candez

 Candez contains Candesartan

Product Information & Mode of Action :- Candesartan blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor in vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland. Its action is independent of the pathways for angiotensin II synthesis. Candesartan has much greater affinity (>10,000-fold) for the AT1 receptor than for the AT2 receptor. AT2 receptor is not associated with cardiovascular haemostatis.

Indications :- Candesartan is indicated for the treatment of hypertension. It is used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.

Candesartan is also indicated for the treatment of heart failure (NYHA class II-IV) in patients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction (ejection fraction less than or equal to 40%) to reduce cardiovascular death and to reduce heart failure hospitalizations. It also has an added effect on these outcomes when used with an ACE inhibitor.

Caplor

 Caplor consists of Clopidogrel.

 Product Information & Mode of Action :- Clopidogrel is an anti-platelet drug; a drug that inhibits the ability of platelets to clump together as part of a blood clot. Caplor does not cause serious reductions of white cells in the blood and, therefore, routine blood testing to determine if the white blood cell count is low is not necessary during treatment. The primary mechanism of action of Clopidogrel is antagonism of the platelet P2Y 12 receptor. The inhibition of monocyte procoagulant activity by clopidogrel was primarily via inhibition of monocyte-platelet aggregates rather than via inhibition of platelet secretion, because: blockade of PSGL-1 greatly reduced the clopidogrel-induced inhibition of monocyte procoagulant activity; Caplor only modestly reduced procoagulant activity on monocytes without bound platelets; and Caplor did not reduce monocyte activation.

Indications :- Clopidogrel is used to prevent strokes and heart attacks in patients at risk for these problems.

Angiguard/Swamlo

Angiguard contains Amlodipine .

Product Information & Mode of Action :- Angiguard is a calcium ion influx inhibitor (slow channel blocker or calcium ion antagonist) and inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into cardiac and smooth muscle. The mechanism of the antihypertensive action of Angiguard is due to a direct relaxant effect on vascular smooth muscle.

Indications :- Angiguard is indicated for controlling high blood pressure and angina.

Atstat-AM

 This product contains a calcium channel blocker, Amlodipine, and a "statin" (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor), Atorvastatin.

Product Information & Mode of Action :- Amlodipine works by blocking calcium which relaxes and widens the blood vessels. It is used to treat high blood pressure or chest pain (angina). Atorvastatin is used along with a proper diet to help lower cholesterol and fats (triglycerides) in the blood.

Indications :- It is usually prescribed after non-drug treatments (e.g., diet change, increase in exercise, weight loss if overweight) have not been fully successful at lowering cholesterol. Atorvastatin is used in adults and children (10 years of age and older). Before starting this combination product, girls must have had their first menstrual period. Reducing high blood pressure, cholesterol and triglycerides help prevent strokes and heart attacks. Reducing high blood pressure also helps prevent kidney problems.
